‘TAP’ INTO YOUR INNER GOODNESS!
The Aden Project (‘TAP’) began as an idea of an 8 year old boy who worried that children in Puerto Rico would miss out on Christmas after Hurricane Maria struck the island in October, 2017. Aden and his family vacationed in Puerto Rico many times and he was sad to hear that they would be unable to go because of Maria. Later, while cleaning his room, he thought his toys should be sent to Puerto Rico instead of taken to Goodwill for donation.
And that’s how The Aden Project began….what started out as a collection of 8 toys from Aden, turned into 2,000 toys and solar lanterns that Christmas. In addition to these, Aden also helped purchase mattresses and roofing supplies for several families that year.
The next year, The Aden Project collected 2,000 more toys for Puerto Rican children. In August 2019, The Aden Project donated over 400 backpacks and school supplies to children in Puerto Rico. This past Christmas, The Aden Project collected 1,000 toys. All toys and supplies collected are distributed directly to families in the most vulnerable communities on the island. Aden, the Kid-in-Chief of The Aden Project, visits the island each time to pass out the items personally.
Today, The Aden Project’s mission is to help children in communities affected by natural disasters. We collect toys and monetary donations year-round.
The Aden Project is a 501(c)(3) organization. Please consider helping us bring joy and hope to children who need it most.
Always remember, it’s good to do good. We thank you in advance for your support!
Since its inception in 2018, The Aden Project has expanded its reach throughout Puerto Rico, delivering much-needed relief and supplies to children, families, and communities. In addition to San Juan and Vieques, The Aden Project has positively impacted several other cities across the island, including:
Aguadilla, Bayamón, Carolina, Ciales, Corozal, Fajardo, Guaynabo, Hormigueros, Lares,
Mayagüez, Morovis, Orocovis, Rincón, Río Grande, and Sabana Grande
These cities have benefitted from the delivery of over 20,000 toys, backpacks, books, and other essential items. The project has also supported the local business community through purchases of generators and initiatives to expand broadband internet access to rural areas.
Despite the accomplishments so far, The Aden Project recognizes that much more needs to be done, and it remains committed to continuing its support for the people of Puerto Rico
